Default APR stage 3, or the PES kit with the gt28?

I'm trying to decide what kit to go with, I can get a PES kit for $2,750 which includes a new turbo and the correct software, or I can save up for the apr stage 3, which in your guys opinion would be the better route to go, btw the car is a manual 1.8t...thanks for any advice.

Default what model year are you?

How are you getting the kit for that cheap?, unless you are buying a used kit. Prices look pretty comparable between the two.

I am of course biased in my recommendation, but if you are DBW I would look at APR's kit a little more.

Default 2nd PES tuning for DBW seems iffy...

I talked to a local guy here in CT alot and he had DBW with PES kit and it never seemed to run right.
But if you are pre 99.5 with the AEB nDBW engine PES is most likely fine.

Default APR's kit is higher quality.

Case in point.. look at APR's exhaust manifold compared to the PES T28 kit manifold.

It didn't feel THAT much faster than my chipped avant.

I mean 5 grand is alot to drop for very little kick in the pants
