Default Argh... too many suspension options! Can't decide what would be the best for me...

First off, handling is infinitely more important than ride height. I drive on some rough roads, dirt and snow frequently enough to be afraid of a really big drop. I want a ride that is controllable but not bone jarring (mostly for my passenger's sake). Anybody have any suggestions? I don't really want to spend the extra $ for coilovers because I don't need the bragging rights. Right now I'm looking at a H&R sport/ Bilstein combo.

Default H&R sports and bilsteins are a great combo.

I've had limited experience with that combo, but I thought it was great! Most coilovers will go a step further in terms of handling and performance. Ride height is only marginally reduced from stock sport (0.75"F/0.50"R drop). Honestly though, if comfort plays a significant factor on the roads you're driving on, I would leave a stock sport suspension in place (or buy one if you don't already have it).

Default I've got stock sport, but I still want better handling.

Not to mention that my shocks will probably be up for replacement in another 10k.

Default djnelson's set up with neuspeed bilsteins and stock sports seems like the perfect compromise...

a little lower and much more stable. I'm planning to do it myself. See his recent posts for ride height pics

Default Do what I did!!!!

I just finished installing my neuspeed bilsteins over the stock sport springs! They are awsome!!!!

1) Little to no change in ride height
2) AWSOME IMPROVEMENT IN HANDLING!
a) no more pitching up and down on accel/decel
b) very flat in cornering (even hard cornering)
c) very predictable
3) No perceptible increase in ride harshness over stock sport!!!
4) Only $480 with an additional $80 in tools
5) 8 hour install with 3 friends

I could not be happier!!!!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Default read this.....not sure if it's what you're after, but I highly recommend it......

great compromise between performance and a totally civilized everyday driver, IMO...

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1123069.phtml</a
