How I love changing the oil and filter in the winter. Artemm, this should give you an idea of the items I discussed. The plastic covers are obviously removed here. This way you have direct access to the majority of items that need to be moved/unbolted, etc.

Yo, check it....
The engine looks very well maintained, though I noticed it could probably benifit from a good soaping job.
I prefer to use 3Mâ„¢ Foaming Engine Degreaser; as it cuts through dirt, grease and oil. It is mild on plastic and rubber parts as well. Fo rizzle my nizzle.

Yeah, your breather hose looks very different (I also understand why this thing is prone to clogging. Sludge vapours + water + cold + horizontal positioning...) I would be surprised if mine was never replaced, though. The previous owner put a lot of work into this car... I believe he's certified. Anyways, I'm assuming the actual PCV valve comes attached to the hose.
I also found a set of NGK Iridium IX plugs for 37 bucks and a good torque wrench for 60... God, am I cheap or what??

Its never been cleaned and probably due. Definitely a spring or summer task. There are a couple vacuum hoses and all the injector o-rings will be replaced before that.

I've already replaced ours once and will probably do it again soon. Its the only way I know to replace the pcv in the system. Still alot less ag then replacing oil seals all over the engine. Throw away the Iridiums, just use the inexpensive factory standard coppers. Detination quality is much better and with no fouling. Being careful what you spend on your car is not a bad thing , just hopefully not to your detriment.
