Default asking for help on boost gauge install....

Well, i bought a pod and a Autometer phantom boost gauge, and i have some problems. THe only 'hose/tubing' that the guage came with was about 6' of nylon tubing. What other hose will i need to purchase (for example, the hose to get from the engine bay to the interior) And also, when i put my vacuum hose on the T-fitting, how will i connect the T-fitting back to the intake manifold? Will i need a smaller hose for that also? And how do you get the line trhough the firewall and into the interior...any help would be awesome.

Default Re: asking for help on boost gauge install....

I got something similar in my SPP kit - one 6' length of hose.

Basically I got a bunch of zipties and clamps, measured how much hose I needed for each section, cut it, and put it all together. I think I used the original line to the manifold. If you want to be safe, pick up some extra hose and you'll have slack to work with.

As for getting through the firewall, there should be a rubber section on the ECU box (the plastic thing, not the actual metal box). Run your hose from the gauge through your dash and into the ECU box, then throught the rubber thing (cut a tiny hole).

Good luck

Default Well..

I can't seem to find the hole in the ECU box....i removed the lower panel on the dirver side right above the pedals...should i be able to see it? I can see the rubber grommet in the first firewall...where would the hole be from there? I just wasn't sure the nylon stuff could hold up to engine temps...thanks

Default APR has a good write up....

It's for their center pod, but running the lines to the engin bay is the same.
