whats up all? I hardwired my v1 to my dome lights last night. worked out well, was relatively easy and the v1 works great.
my question is, for anyone who hardwired their detectors to the dome/moonroof.. were you able to find any power sources that cut off when the ignition was switched off? i couldn't find any. all the diy i found were for b6.. or they had the wires going to the fuse box.
thanks

This is where my inexperience shows. If I take a telephone cable, do I just cut one end off.. expose the wires.. how do i go about connecting them to anything? finding adapters? I'm pretty much lost at this point. do i just wrap the exposed wires to something?
thanks!
thanks!

Just take off the knee-bolster and look around for a wiring post labeled 75x. Attach the hardwire here.
Run the wire up the fusebox along the a-pillar and up against the seam between the headliner and the windshield to where you want to locate your V1. On second thought, run the wire from the V1's position so you can just tuck all the extra wiring under the knee bolster.
