Audi does not offer a factory extended warranty. However, some dealers will sell you one that is backed by a third party company. My dealer would have done that, as long as I bought during the first year of ownership. I believe they wanted $1,500. for 7 year / 100,00 mile coverage. This would not be in force until after the regular warranty had run out (this is typical of all, I believe).
I have been interested in the Warranty Gold coverage. If you believe what they say about themselves, it looks pretty good. I don't know of anyone who has any experience with them, however. They currently will offer coverage on my car for $1000. I need to go back and evaluate it again. I think the cost of the coverage is inversely proportional to the time left on the standard warranty, it would pay to decide sooner. Check them out at the link below.

What warranty company is your dealer offering. I have a 2000 1.8T and am interested in the doing the same (purchasing within the first year). Thanks.

I assumed the dealer was getting a big cut on the premium, so I let that opportunity pass. I never really did any comparisons, so I could be wrong about that.
Since my first post I discovered that the Warranty Gold Platinum 7/100,000 mile coverage will now cost me $2095, so you are right to make this decision soon. The Warranty Gold basic package does not cover turbos.
