Default Audi Assured costs dealers?

I'm currently looking for a used A4, and went to just about every dealer in North Jersey yeserday. I've read before that Audi Assured doesn't cost the dealer, but some of the dealers said that it cost them something like $800 or so (I think $895 was the number I got). Is this true? Or are the salespeople told this, or is the guy just lying? Also, how long does Audi Assured last for? Am I correct that for 99's + up it's 75,000 miles and 98's + lower it's 100,000 miles?

TIA

Default Costs them money, AA warranty being upped to 6yr/100K starting this fall...

Yes, the dealer does pay Audi something like $800 for the warranty, but the dealership will make ALL that money back on warranty visits which Audi will reimburse them for, plus the $50 co-pay that you are giving the dealer for each visit.

All AA cars (all models, all years) are 5 yr/75K until August or September when Audi will be upping that to 6 yr/100K!

I was thinking about selling my '97 A4 and getting a used avant or TT, but now I am going to wait until that better warranty comes out.

It's just an extended warranty, they pay for it and then add it to the price of the car.

Default But don't let them fool you into believing that you should bear the price for that warranty....

Because, they will make up ALL that money on the service you bring your car in for over the life of that extended warranty.

True that dealers have a higher profit margin on out of warranty items, but neverless they do make money on warranty issues, and that should prevent them from adding the cost to the sticker.

Default That's for the EXTENDED warranty....which is not bumper to bumper...

Off the top of my head I know it doesn't cover the exhaust system, suspension and some other stuff AND you do have to pay $50 per visit. So you are better off waiting to take your car in when it has several things wrong with it. And it doesn't include service such as oil changes, belt adjustments and inspections.

Either way, Audi had to up it to 100K since Lexus did and I think BMW has upped their used warranty.
