Audi certainly scrooged out on the coolant temp sensor retaining clip didn't they?
Went to pop a new coolant temp sensor in last night and the clip broke in half when I tried to pull it out. Cheap little plastic POS, which happens to perform a very important function. I spent an hour trying to get some wire in there to hold the sensor in so the coolant didn't all go byebye today.
$0.28 from the dealer for a new one, in stock cause they break all the time. I'd pay $5 for a damn metal one. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hehe - ya know what? I thought mine was too, til I broke it!
I pulled mine a couple weeks ago and realized I had the wrong sensor (ECS sent me the green one), so I replaced the old one and the clip and ordered the blue one. I also swapped a friend's coolant temp sensor a couple weeks ago and thought the clip was metal.
