Audi dealer says I dont need synthetic power steering fluid but instead the mineal audi OEM, true?

Default Audi dealer says I dont need synthetic power steering fluid but instead the mineal audi OEM, true?

Its for my 1.8T, and also what power steering fluid can/should I use that I can pickup at walmart or autozone..etc?

True. G-004-000-M2 for a big bottle, G-004-012 for a small bottle.

why do so many people use synthetic MOBIL 1..... etc

Neither. Skip and get some ATF+4, "Multivehicle" or Mobil 1 ATF.

where do I get the MOBIL 1 ATF or ATF+4, these are all synthetic?

ATF+4 is a licenced product, all brand the same. Get it at WalMart, under $4, yes "Synthetic".

Default Yes, and the transmission is a hydraulic machine. ;)

The differences between ATF and Pentosin "green gold" are probably just the base petroleum oil (engine oil, ATF, etc.) versus mineral oil (Pentosin power steering fluid).
