Default I think we have to get the whole "mineral oil" nonsense out of our heads. "Mineral Oil"= Baby Oil!

I can't explain the unexplainable. Good jerb Audi!

vs driving on a dry system? It might work, but I'd rather cut the belt.

Default afaik, ATF is the most common PSF in the industry. Regular PSF is super-lame. MB went back to Dexron

PSF from Pentosin. I have to say, it's "apparently" Dexron (III?).

New Dex VI is fine too, but ATF+4 is "Friction Modified", better for the 'ol PS pump. Both are thinner than Dex III, but thicker than CHF 11S.

I don't think CHF has much anti-wear nor anti-friction additives. It's basicly an aircraft hydrolic fluid. Some guys use an actual mineral Mobil Hydrolic oil, it's like $25 a drum of 5G, in no way is is made for fine systems used in artics, more like a huge fixed installation indoors that does not shutdown cold every day. Maybe used to power hydrolic factory equipment???

lol if someone want to look at what John Deere offers for a Hydrolic Fluid, that could actually be a great product as JD does extensive product validation of lubes and anti-freeze.

I'd disagree. PSF is more common than ATF in domestic, but Euro's prefer ATF.
