Audi License Plate Holder Fit?

I just got a license plate holder from Audi's website (the Quattro, Brushed Metal one). I've intended it for the rear of my car because the plate looks good bare on the front and there's this large, black plastic thing behind the rear plate that's so much bigger than a US license plate that it looks funny.
Well guess what - that black plastic thing on the back of my car is bigger than Audi's license plate holder, which is beveled around the edges so that the front section is raised about 1/4-1/8th an inch from the car. Hence, there doesn't seem to be a way to get all four screws to make contact with the car and I can only hold the license plate in by the top two screws.
Am I missing something, or do I need to get two longer screws for the bottom? The top edge of the holder fits nicely around the black plastic plate, but the bottom edge is half an inch too short to fit around so it sticks out and doesn't lie flush against the car...
