Audi Symphony not CD-R playable?

joe, that was wonderfully written, i understand this much more now.
i know there are diff programs on unix and linux, i'll find one for the Mac and PCs.
you're even more **** (no pun intended) than me! I don't like getting stray MP3s online anymore. they have to be atleast 192 mp3s with no variable encoding. even then i've encountered terrible rips of great songs.
I go to CES every year, but this year i can't i always go listen to the supercd /CD demos... the eq they use to showcase superCDs are incredible you can actually tell one from the other. the original high freq transients are present in superCDs.

But wait, VBR can be great!
In theory, it's far better than CBR! Check out that website. You see, VBR means the bandwidth (of which there can only be so much) can be used where it's need, and not where it's not. But you do need a good VBR algorithm. LAME encoder is great, and has a very nice algorithm for any method you choose. You might want to give it a shot.
