Default Audi Symphony Radio Question...

I was driving home, and my radio just decided to bump up one click on the dial. I could still hear the station, really fuzzy, but I hadn't pushed any buttons on the dash or anywhere else, for that matter.

This happened to anyone else?

I've also noticed that the treble, mid, and bass adjustments seem to reset themselves. I've got the "hidden" equalizer to where I like it, but the front ones seem to do whatever the hell they like.

Can I get some kind of "Gremlin-be-gone" or is it just a "feature" of the car.

Default Both my father and I have A4's and we both have radio problems....

His does the same thing yours does and the dealer has told us it needs to be replaced. He explained his theory on why it does this automatic channel switching but that doesn't help us. Mine no longer has the display for Bass, Fader, and etc. So I'm just guessing. I hope the replacements are better that the original!

Default I'm comforted that I'm not the only one, and un-comforted to think that I'll have to replace stuff.

So, then...do I go with another Audi system, or do I go to the local car audio specialist and get something else entirely?

Default you can get it replaced free, but you'll be waiting months..

those suckers have been on backorder forever because everyone wants theirs replaced for problems like this.

Default From what I understand... you can complain to the dealership...

Then you have to wait for a new stereo to be in stock (appearantly they are out of stock everywhere, or so I have heard here...)

To me it isn't that big of a deal, just an annoyance... from what I have heard the replacements dont always fix the problem, either.

I asked my dealer and they hadn't heard of any type of replacement/recall policy, so I think it really depends on each individual dealership and their willingness to work with you.

Default Mine used to "reset" things once in a while, but it went away.

I didnt do anything about it. The reset thing started about 3 months or so after I took delivery in June '00 then stopped acting up sometime during the winter.
