Anybody know the exact breakdown of warranties for Audi A4? I think they switched 36/50000 to 48/50000 in 2001 right? And all trims carry same warranty?

I dont know if its 4/48 or 4/50 but that's really not much of a difference imo.
I'd be making them give me a better warranty If i was buying an expensive car, like the S8 or RS6 or something

All '01 and later Audis all carry the 48 Month/50,000 mile warranty. If you can find a *slightly* used one at a dealer, you'll get the Audi Assured policy too. (This gives you an additional 24 months and extends to 100,000 miles.) Consider letting someone else take the off-lot depreciation, and getting a better warranty to boot!
That's what I did when I got into my S4, which only had 9,700 miles on it when I got it. I'm covered through 10/2006 or 100,000 miles. (Caveat: I won't get free scheduled service after 50,000 miles and there will be a $50 deductable on major repairs.)

My biggest tip is this, (which may not be valid depending on present interest rates and what your credit looks like):
Negotiate your deal as if you will use dealer financing. You'll get a better price because the dealer gets a kick-back from Audi Financial or whichever alternate financial institution they place you with. When that's done, and you sit down with the finance guy, either whip out the cash and tell him that you changed your mind about financing, or make him check the 7 Day Option box on the contract. This will allow you seven days to find your own loan, (which you can find cheaper, unless you have great credit). Dealers hate this box, and they hate that you know about it, but they have to let you use it if you ask. Sometimes, they'll even drop your rate right there, on the spot.
The imortant thing: Make sure to let them think you will be using their financing, (even if you intend to pay cash), until you get in with the finance guy.
Talk to Ed Palisoc. He's a very honest guy, a long time AWer, and recently began selling Audis in Georgia. He may be able to offer you some good tips, or even find you a car.

So what u saying is when I talk to the sales person, mention that I'd finance the car so I'd get a better price. But when I talk to the finace guy, pretend that I've changed my mind about financing the car, so that he'd give me a lower rate?
I've never financed a car be4 so I just wanted to make sure that I fully got ur tips. btw, how much should I pay for down payment? Is there a percentage or something? I've heard ppl saying one should not pay too much b/c it's not worth it or something...
Thanx for ur help again.
