Audi will offer Free cpu upgrade to 180hp on AWW engines!
My deal has said that with-in a few weeks that Audi of America has authorized its service personal to reprogram Audi cpus from the 170hp program to the new for 2002 180hp program on all AWW engines ONLY. I'll let you all know how it go's later in the up coming weeks. Stay tuned.

They will chip to the same hp as other VCT engines.
In case you didn't know, the newer engines have a larger more effecient compressor wheel, VCT and a lower compression ratio(9.3:1 vs 9.5:1). Mechanically the late 2001 engines are the same, for 2002 they change the software to bring the engine to 180hp. Whether you have an AWW 2001 or a new 2002 the engine will chip to 210hp.
note: when I say AWW I am refering to the VCT engine, the transverse and longitudinal engines have different codes- the AWW is not found on the A4
