All the jl amps are the same wattage and all ohm loads. so would this mean i would be sending 250 watts to each sub if i used a 250/1? the JLs that im getting suggest around 250w each.

from my understanding, you should always run more wattage through your subs than less...
I have one 10W3 and I run about 250 through it. I really am not maximizing it because I'm running only 250Watts through it. If you are going to run 2 10W3's..I'd suggest getting 2 500.1 I think remember seeing someone have that setup in the Audio/Electronic Forum.

You should get a 2 channel amp..
Even if yo have to go with another make. Make sure you have the speakers wired for 2ohm and make sure you get an amp thats rated for a 2ohm output. If you pick up a 4/6 ohm amp, youll fry it.

Buy the 500/1. The JL monobloc amps use a regulated power supply...
...to maintain their rated output regardless on the input voltage.
And if at all possible make sure to keep your total impedence ~4ohms. Just about ALL amps produce less distortion at that impedence.
