Default AudiWorld Concept Car. Lets totally hook up an A4....

Hmm you know while I was eating lunch today (McDonalds for those who care) I was looking out the window, making sure my baby (A4) was safe..and I thought about how all the major car companies have their own sponsered cars. You know like APR has the "APR car", Momo's got a Momo car (I think) etc.

How about we do an AudiWorld car? First off, we need an A4... Either AudiWorld hooks us up with one or we get a nice guy who would let us tow it around the country bringing to all the Audi events. Second, we totally hook it up. I mean everything. Top of the line chip, suspension, wheels, turbos, seats, trim, ground effects, interior stuff, exhaust, etc. etc. I figured a 1.8T would be easier..since you can get 310 hp with a APR Stage 3+.... Anyways if everyone like donated $20 or so (wondering how many AudiWorld members there are...)...we could put it all together and buy a whole bunch of stuff. Really we could replace almost everything in the car with aftermarket parts... Would everyone be willing to donate some money? Do you think we could actually pull this off? What about getting a car? Wouldn't you feel proud when you are walking through an Audi event and the main attention is on the AudiWorld car!? That you helped build!? Come on lets do it!!
~Mike

Default Perhaps you could help me answer a question I posted in the off topic forum

As to your post, I doubt it would fly. While there are a lot of hits on this site, you will note that the number of regular posters (read people willing to cough up money for something like this) is far smaller probably 100-200 (just a guess). Even if 500 people contributed it would take $50 each just to buy a base 1.8T Quattro, forget about the $10k-$15k in mods.

Of course, you could argue that Cameron's A4, now owned by Vortrag I believe, was pretty close to filling the role you described, except it wasn't ever officially on tour.

Maybe Audi could chip in and sponsor (maybe partially) one of the S4's in the Speedvision cup.

My Off Topic post isn't intended as an attack...I'm just trying to understand.
Regards,
Rodney

Default Depends on who provides it....

Alright by *some* chance say we get Audi to give us a 1.8T. I mean if you want me to head this up I can certainly do it. I live in FL, and I would pay for a garage. I wouldn't be driving it because it wouldn't be a street car, just mostly for show. Now say some guy provides his old Audi. Obviously he would get to drive it if he wants.

I think the nest solution would be to have no one drive it and garage it in a common place. That way there is no fighting over who gets to drive it on the weekends. Hell we could probably put it in an Audi dealership showroom somewhere, and just pick it (tow it) up whenever we have to show it at some event. I think AudiWorld should get interested and provide one, would be a good investment and good marketing move.

Sound fair?
~Mike
