Default Re: Yeppers. If you really want to do it, fine. I just don't believe the Tip sludges at 90k.

Thought so. I'm audi_guy over there. Of course audi_guy was long taken over here. Had to come up with something else. started to use audi redneck. :-)

I won't use auto-rx it unless I see real sludge in the pan and even then it'll have to be really bad. I plan to do a complete flush by following the atf flush proceedure from the auto-rx web site.

Yeah I don't think it's sludged either but the audi tech I use is really experienced & trustworthy (for example - charged me $200 to fix my AC when the Audi Dealer wanted $2000 for a new compressor when the screen/filter was clogged) so it's worth listening when he says something.

Default Do you think its "too late" to flush/change @ 90k, assuming it hasn't been done before?

I hear that if you do a flush on a trans that has not had fluid change for a while, it could eat away at the seals (due to the detergent nature of ATF). Wonder if this applies to a drain and refill rather than a "flush" and getting all that crap out of the tq. converter.

opinions? My car has 90k mi and I wanted to change the fluid, but my mechanic said not to bother for the above mentioned reasons.
