And beside the point to start anyway. This problem has more to do with the way you shut off the car and change the oil.
A highly stressed turbo car is hard on oil, take the proper steps and deal with it or have these problems. I run a 12 quart sump and still change at 3000miles, and the oil I use is far superior to M1.
It isnt just the center bearing in the turbo that cooks the oil either. We observed block temp creep 60 degrees after engine was shut off. We installed an inline waterpump to circulate water thru the engine and turbo using a turbo timer and saw reductions of 100 degrees post shutoff. So I idle for a minute and then circ. water for 3 minutes after I walk away, change 12 quarts of oil every 3000 miles and use German green Castrol. My engine is clean as a pin, and the oil changes very clean as well. I run 3 stainless steel oil filters, 2 on pump return and 1 on oil pickup. The Garrett GTR turbo i run also has very restricted oil flow as the center bearing cartridge doesnt require much flow. So I have about an optimal setup for making sure the engine is well oiled, and I am still very careful. So you can prevent many problems by recognizing the car is hard on oil and doing some PM.

Mobil 1 5w-30 and Pennzoil Platinum both pass the Honda HT-06 test for the turbo 2.3 RDX. imo, the 1.8t is simply a deffective design.
