some answers (more)
Matt Daniels (mdaniels@a4.org), an a4.org editor, has seen them both. I think other people have too. Apparently, India Red is a clone of a color found on the VW Golf GTI (can't remember the name right now). You should be able to see one at your local VW dealer.
MY2K pricing is apparently being released as we speak. Matt Daniels is going to some sort of meeting at Audi of America, taking place "sometime this weekend", where pricing for model year 200 models will be anounced (including S4 pricing - oh boy oh boy). Watch for information on the A4.org front-page on Monday or Tuesday - perhaps earlier.

From the photos, its mostly identical....(more)
IMHO, Y2K new cool shades color India Red is not much difference than the 96 only Autumn Red. The only major difference you are hardly noticed is the orange shade of the India Red just like the Golf IV's Tropic Orange. My friend has brought a 99.5 GTI VR6 with Tropic Orange on Beige leather which is a very attractive color. One time he parked his car close to the "rarely seen" Autumn Red A4 12V on the parking lot. Both of us thought "its the same color except the GTI is more orangish".
By the way, his car is the only Tropic Orange GTI here in GVRD!!
Hope this help
