Avant owners - what do you lube the tailgate struts with?

Default Nothing.
Similar struts are used in the sedan trunk lids...and under the hood on all A4's. I just wipe them clean...that's it.

i used a bit of wd-40 on a rag.. same with the hood strut

i agree with rka. all sedan trunk lids used same struts. i use some cleaning tools for maintenance.
