Avant Subwoofer Install ???
I'm fed up with the horrible sound from the stock system and about to begin my upgrade with a couple of amps, speakers and a Subwoofer.
I once saw a picture of a sub installed in the left side wall in the cargo area. Is it an 8" 10"? Would two 6 inchers fit?
How was it wired?
Any pics or info would be greatly appreciated.
I also posted in the audio forum for complete coverage.

Here is mine. I used to have the amp mounted with the cross-overs in the wheel well. Click on the link. I looked awsome and super clean, but on a warm day I fried my amp. Not sure if it was the heat or what, because many people have put amps in there before. If you want simple and clean do something like this with a 5-channel amp and do what I originally did and have it between the crossovers in the wheel well. I have not come up with any good places to mount amps and subs and keep the avant functional other than this so far. Good luck.

http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/42092/crossovers.jpg</a

I have the same thing, except I came up with a brilliant place to mount the amp...
Attach it to the sub box!
I have an Alpine amp screwed onto the sub box. When I need more room I just unplug the amp and the sub comes right out. Get an amp that has an easily disconnectable power input, my alpine just unplugs, its great. Also my amp is just running the sub, it would be different if you had it running other speakers. I have another amp running my other speakers bolted to a .5" piece of plywood that is in the spare tire well.

I put my amp in the spare tire well. I am hopefully going to put the woofer in the left compartment.
Fiberglassing can be a pain and it has to be warm unlike the temps now. An 8" will definitely fit, I am putting my 10" in. It won't sound as good as a huge amp and solid box but I am going more for the usable space angle.
