Are Avants "in production" or still hard to find?

Ordered 9/25, on target to be here end of December....
... I'm not sure what happened to these people
who ordered in the spring and still haven't
seen a car, but I'd suspect that their dealers
may be playing allocation games.

there are a number of people who were waiting who have or are getting them now...
the avant order elist greyhound guy made is about, what george, 85% in now? they are coming in...
but, like peter said, some are still waiting...

I think the alocation games are true..
mu=y order number has mysteriously changed and was justtold about it today, 5 months after order is placed.
Smells fishey to me!
I'll get to the bottom of this and advise everyone as to what happened.

Hate to rub it in, but I got mine in 4 days.
I had tried to find a used one for months that was somewhat local. Finally gave up and called the dealer and told them what I HAD to have - Avant, 5-speed, Sport, Conv/Prem. Gave them the choice of 4 colors with interiors - either black, silver, or hibiscus. They called back the next day with 3 options. I wasn't *looking* for the ecru/onyx interior, but I went and saw it and loved it. Told them to ship the car and filled out the order. Picked up car 2 days later with 13 miles on it. The only option that I didn't want was ESP, but it is more like gravy on the deal so it's no big deal. Overall it was a quick and painless deal. I really feel for you guys that have had to wait for months. It must suck!! ;->
