Default awe stage 3 clutch? (correction)

I decided I'm going to sell my dual mass flywheel and spec stage 2 clutch and went and bought an AWE stage 3 clutch AND lightweight flywheel combo. On AWE's website it says they work on model years 97-04. When I received the clutch, it came with installation instructions which stated in bold letters that the clutch works on AEB and ATW engines only. My car is AWM (2001.5).

So my question is, is this a typo in the instructions or did they send me the wrong clutch kit? I'm waiting for their response as well, just thought maybe somebody here knew.

Default because I don't want to wait on the phone and I figured perhaps someone here knew

Also I'm busy calling SPEC right now, I sent my FW in so they could resurface it and I haven't heard back from them in over a week. The FW arrived at their store on Monday morning.

Default The clutch should be good for your 2001.5 since it is a B5 still.

The clutch for the B6 is different and that is for 2002-2004 5 speed and then in 2005 they came out with the 6 speed trans for the 1.8t.

Default so when do you plan to get rid of the Stage 2?

I have a 2001.5 and was looking at the AWE Stage 2. Let me know

Default I didn't know an AWM and ATW/AEB engines had different specs...

The bolt patterns are the same and the flywheel offsets are the same. I'm inclined to think you're fine, but you should call AWE to be sure.

Cheers,

I believe the pressure plate is stronger in the '01. so, different PNs, IIRC.

Default But the clutch kits replace the stock pressure plate

so they should all cover all B5 1.8t's.
