Default Is it a bad idea to purchase a demo? (details...)

I'm looking at a 2000 1.8 demo in my area (st. louis) with around 5000 miles and loaded with all options. I've heard demos may be punished during their time with the dealer. If I grab it (before it's gone) what should I plan on paying? The dealer just told me to make an offer, but they're still starting at MSRP. The invoice price loaded should be about 26K I believe. What is everyone's opinion on what I should offer? Thanks for any help.

Default your dealer has quite a nerve (well they all do)- get at least invoice for a 5k demo! :-)

when people test drive cars they usually abuse them. ie, they will floor it to see 0-60 times. this aintgood if you like to break in your car.

moral: i wouldnt buy a demo...

Check some web pages to see what the retail blue book is on the car.

Re: A demo car is one that is driven by an Employee like a manager. Not test driven by customers.

Default Not at all. Unless you consider risky being used to go back and forth to work and taking the family

out driving. The worst you would probably get is some stains in the carpet or on the seats. Check the car out very well.

Default No just a lot car. Just has a few miles on it. They usually don't use the car to long for test

drives.
