I would say, unless i got it below invoice, i wouldn't think it was worth it.

Default Thank God. I got a demo.

I got a pretty good deal on mine, or at least I am under that impression. It's a 99.5 with every option except sport a xenon w/ 2700 miles. I only paid 22,500 or 23,500 after it was all said and done. But I really couldn't complain because it has a new car warranty, and seemed to be treated well. I am glad to hear that demo cars aren't just test drive cars for people to beat on.

Default "Demo" v.s. "Test Car"

I once got pulled over on the Bay Bridge by a CHP seargent, who had one thing to say to me when I told him I was going 55: "I bet my life you were going over 75". Would you bet your life that "demo" has never been test driven or worse?

A dealer demo is the same as a rental car in my opinion.

Default I wouldn't do it unless it was well below invoice and there was nothing else in stock I liked.

But nearly all lot cars are test driven unless they are custom-ordered right?

Default Hmmmm.....

While test driving an A4 a couple months ago, the salesman related the story of he and another salesman repeatedly trying to get a new A8 sideways on an off-ramp. He definitely encouraged me to drive a car with 50 miles on it very hard.

There's no way to tell how those 5000 miles were gotten, but I'd bet noone was driving Miss Daisy as they racked up.
SC400, A4 1.8T on order
