buy a car right off the lot, that is all. They will not let anyone drive a ordered car that is on the lot.

That would be a dumb thing to do. Is it really worth losing a job over and getting arrested for
recless driving. We had a porter that took a used cobra out for a drive, he lost control of the car when making a left turn spun the car then was t-boned by another car. Three days later the passenger of the other car died from the accident. He was arrested and lost his job and license to drive. The car the 2 salesmen were driving was most likely just a lot car. Only upper management get to take demo's home.

i got my car off the lot and it had only 9 miles on it- no test drives either- (more)

Good to know, that as a rule cars that are ordered are not allowed to be test driven. That being the case, normaly what is the mileage of cars that have just been shipped to the lot?

Re: The miles on the car are from driving the car out of the plant, than onto the ship, than onto
the transport truck, then the car has to go through the PDI department which will take the car on a test drive to make sure everything is ok with the car.

test drive car vs demo car
im not sure if this is how other audi dealers work it out, but in austin the local dealer has only 4 a4s to test drive:
1- 1.8t manual
2- 1.8t tip.. etc.
this is how it was done last year when i went in, mabey it changed. i acually like how they do it. it makes their other a4s on the lot low mileage.

Perhaps you should consider the following case: My dealer ordered the car for me -- nothing down -- a good faith deal.
Once the car arrives at the dealership, let's say I can't break away from work for 10 days in order to pick it up. What compelling reason (other than self-respect) does the salesperson have to not give a demo ride in my car in the interim?
