Default Battery Cannot hold charge.....

Battery Cannot hold charge.....

My Battery is original come with 1999.5
It's started don't hold charge. Car now
only 45km. I do a search on battery, some
say battery need to add water after 3 yrs.
Is it true...? Will adding water bring it
back to life?

If I need a replacement, what model or
spec I need to know for the new one?

Thanks....!

Default pop covers and look at water level..fill with distilled water almost to top

you'll see a max or atleast to .5" below top covering the elements. If really low battery elements maybe be dead/dying. Popular replacements are Interstate MTP-91, Sears Diehard International and Optima Red or Yellow. Optimas are set up differently so they require a slightly modified setup. Search forum for more details. The rest are direct fit/replacements.

Fill with water to just above the plates. The electrolyte can expand as it takes a charge so if you fill it too much it will overflow. Bad thing. If the battery comes back to life you can always add a little more after it takes a full charge. I replaced mine with the Interstate MTP 91 & drain tube.

Just finished checking the water level, above
the plate (Normal). Also Use a hydrometer to
test the acid, show Red (means Bad).

I think i need a new Batt. Crap Original batt
only last for 45km.....
