Default Hooked up Jumper cables to the car and...

The voltage meter on the my Dads Chevy Silverado dropped as sparks began to fly.
The smell of burnt wiring came out again.

Default hooked up cables?

The original Battery, (That was good) is now completely dead. So I tried to jump it. I was in my car and the interior lights came back on but the Gear indicators did not show up at all. Besides draining all the juice from the battery my car made my dads truck's voltage to drop. Every thing is hooked up correctly now but nothing good is happening.

Default at the least you lost the alternator...

I would unhook it and then see if you can jump the car. You might be lucky and have had the alternator hold the reverse voltage down across the rest of the parts, but it also could be a major meltdown of anything electronic that was on, and alas those parts do not come cheap.

Should I get the 120 Amp or the 90 amp? Are they the same size?
