Default Battery problem or worse?

When i turn the key in my car it takes a couple or revs for the engine to start up. When it does this the lights in the dash flash until it starts up. Once it starts up the A/C is automatically switched on to 71 degrees AUTO.

When the first time it happened i had to turn on the headlights in order to get it started which makes me think its a battery issue. Also i lost control of the automatic opening and closing of the windows until i ran the car for a little bit and regained all control. Also the SAFE was on my radio which leads me to believe it was dead at one point?

Anyone ever hear of this, could it just be an old battery (5 years) or something worse and should start saving my pennies??

Any info is appreciated!!

You need a voltmeter to know. Watch the cranking voltage at the battery posts (not the cable clamps) as the car is starting. If less than about 11 volts, the battery is weak. When it starts, do you see at least 13.5 volts? If yes, battery is probably bad. If no, charging circuit is your problem. My guess is the 5-year old battery is bad.
