Battery Removal and Radio Code

I installed the APR 3.0 chip back in my AUDI A4 1.8T Avant Quattro today after a while and according to the new removal instructions posted on the APR site I had to remove the graund cable from the battery. Well, I did that, replaced the ECU and connected the battery cable back and the radio started playing without asking for the code.

WHY ?????

my battery died, interior lights was left on for a week but no radio issues after it was jumpstarted

Same with mine

I replaced the battery a couple of months ago. I didn't have to enter a code for theradio, but I did have to reprogram the one touch windows.

Seems like I've read on this forum that the dealer has to enable the anti-theft code. Don't know if there's any truth to that.
