BATTLEWAGONS! So I'm cruising the freeway in my envy green 30V Avant.......

Approaching a left exit onto another freeway I fall in line behind a new Volvo V70 wagon. Ahead of him is a jacked up Bronco II. This is a sweeping exit that I could normally take at 55 mph but the Bronco has to slow to sub-rollover speed. The sweep exits into three lanes, the leftmost lane we are in, another to the right and a third close-out lane from another on-ramp. Mr V seems perfectly content to queue up behind the slow moving Bronco so I give the Audi a touch of throttle and ease into the right lane. Just as I get on his rear quarter Mr V starts to drift into my lane and lazily throws on his turn signal half way through the manouver. I have plenty of momentum so I just slip over into the close out lane, open a little more throttle and shoot the gap. I move over two lanes left to bypass a couple more SUVs, then slip back over one lane to the right. AHHHH, I'm now looking at several hundred yards of open highway. Feeling casual now I back the accellerator down to 70 or so as I glance into my rearview mirror. WOT! OH NO!! Mr V has copied my moves and is closing fast like he has a blower or something. Just for a split second I think "Nah...not a baby-on-board Boxmobile ...he's not really going to run me". Years of conditioned reflex though are simultaneously forcing my right foot to fall, just in case. Mr V closes faster and starts to move right. Now his clear intent is to close me out using the car ahead of me for interference. NOT TODAY! NO, NOT EVER!. The hammer falls! The tach jumps like a short circuit as my TIP drops from OD into 3rd. The 30V wails and takes off like a scalded dog! Mr V is right there with me but he... just.... can't.... quite..... go....all...the....way! I slip right ahead of him to make my exit!
It must have been a 2.4T, but we'll never know. I didn't get to see his badges again after the challenge. He got a real good look at four rings though.
