Default Bent Rim Question

Hey Everyone,

So here's the story: I took my car into local Audi Dealership about a month ago to get a few things fixed and they said I had a bent rim (possibly 2).

So tonight, I take off each of my rims and visually inspect them and they appear to be fine. I finally take off the front passenger side rim (which I KNOW and was told by Audi that it was bent) and it appears to be fine as well.

I know if me looking at it with my own eyes am not able to detect a bend, probably a picture for you guys would not help either. But I thought I would give it a shot anyway. Here's is the "supposed" bent rim:

Picture 1:

Picture 2:

I still plan on dropping them off tomorrow or Friday at the wheel repair shop to see what they say, but thought I'd see what you guys thought first. Thanks in advance everyone! =)

Default yeah, have them spin tested / checked for balance. not sure how the dealer could tell.

you'll never be able to tell from a picture.

Default OEM RS4 Type wheels? typicial "out of round" with them. find someone willing to take the time

to balance them. probably easier/better with stick-on weights since you can put them on the inside and not just on the lip -- which fvcks up the lip anyway.

Default $150/wheel to straighten by local mechanic here. i had two done and the second still has a visual

bend in it but holds air and car doesn't shake so it's fine.

Default Why not bolt them back onto the car, jack it up, and spin each one?

The bends will be obvious.

Default The way I used to do it was run the car in 3rd gear on the lift

You can easily tell when you have a bad tire/bent wheel that way.

Default That's only if the bends are noticeble on the outside

It's not going to help in situations where I can't even see it
