Bentley now lists a TT repair manual - but no A4
The TT just came out and Bentley produces a repair manual. The A4 has been out since the 96 model year in the US and they have been promising an imminent manual for about 2 years. What's up with this? The TT repair "manual" is actually a CD, but the good news is that it is "only" $100. That's lots cheaper than the $400 Audi charges through Dyment for the A4 manual set, and the $200+ Bentley charges for the A6 manuals.<ul><li><a href="http://www.rb.com/audi/eatt/eatt.htm">Bentley TT repair manual info</a></li></ul>

Here's a couple of e-mails from R. Bentley....
From February 3, 1998 (coming close to 2 years ago):
>Dear Sir,
We are expecting a release date date of around July of 1998.
If you'd like to be on our mailing list please E-Mail us your name and
mailing address.
Sincerely,
Karl Ryan
================================
From May 28, 1998:
Thank you for your interest in Robert Bentley Publishers line of Audi
service manuals. The release date for our A4 book has been pushed back. At
this time we do not have a projected date, but we are still hoping to have
it out before the end of 1998. We still have no price information, though.
If you would like to receive information on this book when it comes out, and
a catalogue in the meantime, please email me your regular mailing address.
Thank you.

I guess the point of this, with regard to the A4 manual, is that I'll believe it when I see it! (I had at least one later inquiry that I can no longer find, where they delayed it again, but it's always just a few months from being released). The market for an A4 manual just has to be far greater than a TT manual.

Interesting that it has an official Audi part number.......
In this case I would believe that Dyment would also sell it as they are the official Audi/VW factory manual distribution center. They may also have the info on the A4 CDROM availability!
I have the $400 set and though pricey, I prefer to just page through all the volumes than to look up certain items on the CDROM as needed. But again most people would use it on a casual basis and the $100 spent would be wise!
