Best brand for coil packs? Also stuttering when 50+% throttle
Well I just had a great vacation involving driving 45 minutes in limp mode in order to buy a no name coil pack for my 2000 ATW 1.8T, but it was better than driving 250 miles home that way!
I'm thinking with 130K miles I might just want to replace all of them and I'm seeing a number of brands, is there a favorite?
Problem #2, I've had a hesitation and stutter for some time when I go 50+% throttle and I'm seeking ideas.
Thanks in advance.

Hitachi E Series
I think the consensus is Hitachi "E" series coil packs. I recently had the same problem on my 2000 A4 ATW 1.8T and did some poking around looking for the best coil packs. The Hitachi "E" are the latest revision for that part number. I ordered mine from ECS and have had no problems for several thousand miles since. The hold up fine on a K04 as well. The only issues I have with misfires now are when my copper plugs go bad (~7k miles) but that's a cheap fix.

I had some misfiring today at 75%-100% throttle, enough to turn on the engine light with a code of "misfire cylinder #2"
Well I had a head slapping moment when I replace my spark plugs (ngk bkr6es) with 30,000 miles tonight to find:
1. The plugs were quite worn (0.040)
2. They all seemed slightly loose
After cleaning all electrical surfaces, using dielectric grease everywhere and putting in the new plugs I now have no hesitation!
The only question remaining now is whether the coil pack I replaced was truly bad...
One thing to note, the AutoZone coil pack from my vacation was a Hitachi while the one from an AutoZone near my work is a Beru (I thought I might need another). Also, the price at AutoZone is the same as I find online through mail order! $27!!!
