Best garage shelving?

I just built a 1920 sq ft garage and I want to get some shelving in there so I can stop throwing stuff on the floor. I'm torn between building the shelves myself and buying something pre-built. A buddy of mine has something called gorilla racking in his shop and it's very stoudt stuff, but I can't seem to find the same model that he has anymore. They look like 2' x 8' shelves with silver painted heavy gauge steel frame.
The way I see it the big advantage of building them myself is that I can be assured that I will be able to add more at a later date and they will all be uniform. If I buy them, they may stop making that model at some point and I may be out of luck.
Let me see what you've got in your garage, homemade or store-bought. I need some ideas!
Thanks,
Ryan

something tells me you can afford to just go down to Sears to buy the pre-made stuff.
I personally use old kitchen cabinets over a bench that I built out of 2 wall panels that the Gap was throwing away.

as I tore most of the built in stuff the PO did in our garage as it was taking up too much room and wasn't done to my liking.

He can afford to call somebody like these places. I only bought 3 Coleman cabinets and 2 HD steel shelves and then built my bench from scratch.

People's assumptions never fail to amaze me. It's all about priorities. My #1 priority was to have a very large garage, so I cut out all of my unnecessary expenses. I'm very frugal and have been planning (and saving for) my garage for 5 years. I drive a 2000 A4 that I just bought for 5k. I've never had a car payment in my life and the Audi is the most expensive car I've ever bought. Usually I buy non-running cars, fix them, drive them for half a year and then sell them for a decent profit when I find something else to buy and fix.
That said, I'm far from rich, and I can't afford to call anyone. The shelving will either be built by me or I will be trying to find an auction for some used pallet racking. I am leaning toward building it since I can then construct it so that my garden tractor and motorcycle can fit under the shelves somewhere. I definitely won't be buying anything that looks like the picture above. My house isn't even close to that nice. Maybe if I win the lottery though ;-)
For the sq footage guy, my house is only 450 sq ft per floor, so my garage is huge in comparison to my house as well. That is part of the reason for the big garage. We need to keep the clutter in the house to an absolute minimum for it to be functional (read: I need some shelving in the garage).
