Default If I can't get anything to work, I will just heat the bejesus out of it and go ahead and replace

control arms too. I would like to avoid that though because after I am done with this its time to start disassembling the engine and buying lots of new parts.

Default just a general tip..

if you can apply some axial load to the bolt while impact wrenching it out, its more likely to unscrew.

maybe a pickle fork under the head or a clamp pushing on the other end of the bolt.

Default Harbor Freight quality tools?

I see they are cheaper but are they worth getting?

Default all the HF tools I've bought have held up well...

they're not the greatest, but they work for the minimal amounts of use they get.

Others have had bad experiences (torque wrenches exploding out the bottom, etc), but for the minimal use tools, HF is fine in my book!

Default I recall it helps to have both wheels in the air...if you only have the one...

try putting a jackstand on the other side. That's how I did it (the bolt came right out but I'm also in California) and it's conceivable that an uneven set of front wheels would help to bind that bolt in place. Or... I could be making things up.. I haven't had my tea yet.

Default Both wheels are in the air. This car has spent 7 years in the midwest.

It's rusted in there.

Default When I replaced my bearings, I just left the control arms attached and removed the

inner bushing mounts. Took it to the machine shop with the upper arms still attached.
