OK, I live in CALIFORNIA. Neuspeed is the only chip that seems to be CARB legal. Is that true?

Default Same, you send your ECU in to the place to do it.

But like others said, try to pick a dealer near you for best support.

Default Whats your box number, or your Skill with percise Electronics Sautering?

Because unless you have an M box or a decent ammount of Sautering experience you should get someone else to do it (like the dealer)

Yeah, you dont need to install this thing yourself.

Default Well, going Neuspeed means I can send it out for them to install. And it's smog legal...

Will it be more dependable, since it's not as harsh of an upgrade? CARB legal, means dealer legal, at least out in Cali.

Default CARB legal?

I know the GIAC and the Wetteraurer I had were for off-road use only.
In practice, does it really matter? I haven't heard of any issues with chipped cars in Cali.

Default Re: CARB legal?

That's true. But I'm just trying to make some pretty low-key upgrades. What do you suggest? I know Neuspeed will only give me around 30 HP, but I'm not much of a wrench with Audis quite yet. And I also don't know how much money I want to invest. The whole core thing is something that I worry about also. Man, I don't know...maybe you can point me in the right direction.
