Default BIG question

Hello all, I am new to the forum and would like to introduce myself. I'm Howard 33 from the Ft. Lauderdale area and I have put an order in for an A4TQM. I have always owned Volkswagens until now. I am a big fan of euro cars period.

My question is this. I am instaling a German tuners wheels on my car... How wide can I go?
They will be 17" I saw 16/9" on an A2 Jetta 4 door and they fit!!! These wheels range from 17/7,
17/7.5, 17/8, 17/8.5 and 17/9. These rims are deep and I love the look. Just not sure how deep I can go. Thanks!

Default It'll depend on the offset...

...but you should be able to go 17x8.5. IMO, 17x7.5 tucks in perfectly (ET35). 17x8 (ET35) fits well also and looks a bit more aggressive. HTH.

Default Re: It'll depend on the offset...

so what offset should I be looking for? If I want to go as big as possible 17/9 is awesome but 17/8.5 might do... but I want to get the correct offset either way... I dont want fouling or rubbing with a 1 to 1 1/2 drop.
Thanks!

Default Ronal R-28s are 17x8.5 ET34; this offset is known to work.

I have Projektzwo in 17" x 8.5" and a 35ET. I also have the stock sport suspension. There is no rubbing, but the tires to overhang the fenders toward the bottom of the wheel arches, by about 1/4". You may want to consider getting mud guards to protect the paint. I'm running 235/40 R17 tires.

O.K. I just called the guy and he says the offset is 35. He says go with the 17/7.5 YUK!
What do you guys think? 17/8.5? please consider the 1 to 1 1/2 drop.

Default definitely go 17x8.5 if you want a very aggressive look. If conservative, go 7.5.
