Default which Bilstein shock perch position?

Just wondering,
I have H&R sport springs and Bilsteins w/selectable perches,
result of istallation was:
24 3/4" front (ground to fender)
25 1/4" rear

the front is set on the second fron bottom (of 5?)
the rear is in the middle of the three

WHAT I am wondering is what other people have theirs set to, I think I need to have it lifted up one notch, because Im lightly scraping coming out of my building's garage everyday (car is pretty low now).....BTW what exactly would you presume that is scraping down there? anything vital?

feedback (especially with this setup would be appreciated) and resulting height?

charles
98 2.8qsm

Default Re: which Bilstein shock perch position?

It may depend on the type of springs.
I have the Neuspeed sport springs set on the second from top up front and the second from bottom at rear. The "standard" setup for Neuspeed is third (middle) up front and bottom perch at rear. (I thought there were four rear grooves, no?)
In both cases the car is level and the fender gap is pretty even. My car is lowered about 15-20 mm from the sport package height (20 mm lower from stock). The "standard" settings would lower the car another 10-12 mm. Sorry I don't recall what the ground to fender measurements are.
HTH,
Jim

Default What I was told . . .

Hey Charles,
Here's what I was told. The front shocks have 5 positions, the center one would represent the stock perch height. The rear shocks have four grooves, and the bottom one os stock, so you can go 3 up, but not down in the rear.
Hope this helps

James wu
A4 Club of Vancouver
1998 Black/Onyx 1.8tqa

A4 Club of Vancouver
