If I dont get bird droppings off the paint within 30 minute of getting on the car, it literally etches into the paint! Also, dew on the car in the morning, if I allow it to dry by the sun it also etches water marks (acid rain?) into the paint! Also some cherries fell of a tree while I was at work and by the time I got home I couldnt remove them with ANYTHING! I took it to the dealer, they said "thats just black paint, you have to take more care of it than other colors" I am not sure if the dealer ever put a clearcoat protective finish on the car when I bought it! How do you tell? I wax with Zymol every 3 months or so. The wax does not remove any of these blemishes either. It seems like the wax doesn't last very long. But hell, the finish on all of the horizontal surfaces looks like crap after having the car only 14 months!

it's hard water, and all sorts of chemicals in the bird crap. Try glazing the car, then rewaxing.

wash the car, then use 3M Imperial Hand Glaze, then Wax. Should take care of it.

First of all, I garage the car EVERY night. Keeps all of the night gunk off. If you can't garage it, I'd recommend getting a cover for it.

Second, if you have some swirl marks or the remains of a bird poop assault use some 3M Imperial handglaze on it. I love this product and it does a great job on paint blemishes.

After using that I put a nice coat of wax on, making sure to apply and remove in the same direction that wind flows over the car (you should also wash your car this way too). Front to back. NO swirling motions. I use One Grand Blitz way. It's a very good wax and easy to apply/remove.

Although Black is a PIA to keep looking good, nothing looks as good when clean. Good luck.

Carnuba (sp?) get all the hype b/c there is a lot of money to be made on it. It's old school technology...don't believe the hype.

The 3M glaze.. will this remove the wax that I just put on? I assume so since you mentioned that I need to wax the car again after applying it. The dealership said to use Turtle Wax! he said that provides more protection than anything else...
