Gents, does anyone know of a good way to bleed the coolant system on a 2000 a4 2.8L without unscrewing the bleeder screws. I'm asking cause i've unfortunately worn out the hex slots on my bleeders so the hex keys can no longer be used to turn them.

Looking at ALLDATAdiy.com, there is another bleeder hole on the line going to your heater core. Loosen the fitting and pull back the hose to expose it.

Start the car and give it a chance to warm up.
Push the outlet clamp onto the hose or pull it out on the heater core pipe.
Pull the outlet hose back enough so the bleeder hole is far enough to let the steam/air escape.
Once the engine heats up, you will notice steam escaping.
Monitor the engine coolant temp so you dont overheat - for whatever reason.
Do this until you only get coolant bleeding out.
That's it.
When I flushed my heater core, I bled it as explained above, pushed the hose in place, waited for a bit, and opened it back up to try and release any air that may bave been trapped.
It might not work, but hopefully it does.
Let us know how things go.

Slight problem: My heater core got busted late last year and i had it bypassed. Not a problem since i live in the tropics and never needed the heater. So i am effectively stuck with not normal way of bleeding the system.
