blew a tire on the way home tonight....need advice TIA
Was the front drivers side. Iv'e had the new tires since 64k miles (i'm currently at 80K) There is still lots of tread left. especially in the rears. The front outside tread was getting a bit thin on both tires because i haven't rotated them. I can't really afford to get 4 new ones, and it seems like it would be a waste considering the conditions of the rears, but just getting the one tire replaced just doesn't seem right. Should I just get 2 new front tires? I'm gonna do this in the morning before work so I need some help b4 then if possible. Thanks

You might even get by with one new tire . . .
Same thing happened to me after about 22K miles, except that it was a rear tire. With the blessing of the dealership, I replaced only that one tire. (The other rear tire was hardly worn -- these were Eagle LS all-seasons -- , and these were rear tires, after all.) You could do the same by rotating your good rear tires to the front and putting the new tire on the rear.
After doing that, though, the dealership was reluctant to do any tire rotations for a long time afterward, because they didn't want the front tires to have different tread depths. After another 20K miles, they finally decided that the fronts were worn so much more than the rears that they did a rotation anyway. And there were no problems.
