Has anyone installed a blinder M40 in their car? I can figure out a bunch of places to mount the transponders in the front, but what about the rear? I can't think of any place in the rear where I could mount them, have them be close enough to the plate, but still out of plain view.
Anyone have any install pics or suggestions on where to mount the rear transponders?

1. Have you considered mounting them inside the rear tail lights (the part for the clear reverse lights)? Of course that means giving up the reverse lights, and reinstalling stock lights for inspections every year.
2. You really shouldn't need two rear transponders. You could mount 1 on the rear deck just above the rear 3rd brake light. The horizontal distance from the plate isn't an issue, as it's less than 18" in height from the center of the license plate. The only issue I see here is window tint will throw a wrench into this plan (unless you provide a cut out for the transponder in the tint film). Alternatively, mount both transponders on either corner of the rear deck if you insist on using both of them. I would actually flank the 3rd brake light with each of them...keeping them as close to the rear plate as possible.

1. I hadn't thought about putting them in the reverse portions of the lights; that's an interesting thought, but I'd like to keep the reverse lights. Not too sure how to take the lens cover off either.
2. I thought about the rear deck too...should make the install SUPER easy as well. I have an install card from www.installcard.com but if I mount on the inside, I can prolly do it myself.
Luckily I haven't tinted my windows, although it's something I've been planning to do over the past 3 or 4 years, haha. Just been putting it off. The only problem I can see with putting it up there is IF I do get pulled over, that's the first thing the cop is going to see when he walks up to my car from the back. I have an ecru decklid, which would make it stand out even more. Maybe I'll just have to spraypaint the casing to make it look OEM.

you'd remove the tail lights, and cut the back of the housing to install the transponders, then bolt the tail light back in place.
Considering your comments, the last thought I had was mounting them under the rear valence, but pushed back just far enough that they fall under the shadow created by the rear valence. This is fairly innocuous.

My car is pretty low though. Although I just have the S4 rear valence (no Reiger ***-dragger here), I'm worried I'll lose the transponders, especially when I drive up to Tahoe in the winter. A Reiger rear would almost be better in this situation because I'd be able to put it behind the mesh.
I'll look under the valence and see if there's room/enough support for mounting and how obvious it'll look. I might just paint the case ecru to make it look OEM and hope the thing works so I don't get pulled over, hehe.

Get a scrap trunklid from a junkyard...cut some openings in the top of the trunklid, find a way to build in a clear cover for those openings, and mount the transponders inside the trunk lid.

Thanks for the compliment. Wheels are the original Technomagnesios. They're full magnesium race wheels, 19x8.25
