Default Blkpearl: did you change your eibachs/bilstein sports because they "wore out'?

My set is two years old so I am wondering if I need to replace. Fender gap is still about three fingers (except driver's side front: two fingers), and shocks have no leaks. Control arms, bushings, tie - rods, sway bar links are all maintained and checked. But. . . the car just doesn't seem to be as sharp in turns or as smooth over the bumps and holes.

Would a fresh set of springs help? Or would coil - overs resolve the problem for good? Open to suggestions.

This would be for the tough streets of Manila on a daily drive and weekend - warrior runs out of town.

Start with tires. Springs don't wear out.

Default Excellent suggestion. I ordered a set of Bridgestone Adrenalin, which arrives in two months.

I am trying to get all my suspension parts together before then so I have a one - time install.

Default My Eibach ProKit springs and Bilstein shocks have about 128,000 miles/over 4.5 years on them

well, except for one shock that was leaking and had to be replaced 6k miles ago. Other than that, they've been solid.

Default Now that is impressive.

Do you still have the same ride height and quality as you did when you first installed?

I ask because mine seems to have settled through time (from four fingers down to three/two fingers). Which might be "expected" in your experience?

Why are tires taking 2 months to arrive?

You must have little fingers. My Eibach Pro-Kit is 2 fingers or a little less.

Default I didn't measure when they were originally installed, but it hasn't dropped much from what I can see

as far as the ride goes, they're still handling great. I only drive on the street with the car right now, though, so I can't speak for real high performance driving. My only gripe about this setup is the height. It's just a bit too low for the street, since the springs are somewhat soft. It bottoms out too easily and I actually do get a slight tire rub on the right rear with my 17s taking hard lefts. I'm glad I got 225s and not 235s like I was orginally thinking of doing.

Default On the way from Japan. Because 225/50/16s for Audis are special.

And worth the wait.

track tires? That kind of availability would make me nervous with street use
