Default you cant run a true BOV w/o running rich, but Ive seen 2 hybrid BOVs..

-HKS SSQ+Recirculation Valve
-Go Fast Bits "Hybrid"

Both have the BOV output and a recirculation outlet. The Go Fast Bits hybrid apparently works as such: at lower boost, it recirculations everything, but at higher boosts, it will hit the BOV outlet and make the standard BOV sound.

The HKS probably is similar.

I have NO clue how this effects running rich or not. I'm inclined to think that once the point is reached that anything reached the BOV outlet, the system has the change of running rich.

Default Nope...

The GFB will not make a blowoff valve sound..it makes a quick chirp. If you run just an intake (this is directed towards spawn) you can hear the stock bypass valve pretty well. Sounds pretty close to a blowoff if you gas it hard and let off...I got the valve by Juan, it is a GFB valve that is reworked to work on the A4. The one by GFB throws codes. It works on the WRX but not for our A4. The valve that Juan has has a different spring, re cnc'd valve and a rubber O-ring iirc. It holds the boost, shifts are quick and snappy now...Here is a pic:

Default I got a chance to look at a GFB today.

Out of all the valves i've examined (Which is most of them) it looks to be about the best made valve out there. Now as to long term reliability, or whether you will have to service it, no idea.

Default No greasing necessary, that's why I bought it...

taking the BPV in and out to grease it is such a PITA...
