Default Boost Gauge Install Questions

I'm planning on installing a boost gauge on my car and I have a couple of Qs. I can't find anything but plastic T connectors from hardware/automotive parts stores. Will the plastic be OK to use or should I use something like brass? The plastic ones I found didn't say what kind of plastic it is, nylon perhaps?

Also, I read from some personal websites that they used a silicone vacuum hose. Again, I can't find anything but a rubber vacuum hose.

I don't think there's a problem using a plastic T and a rubber hose, the air inlet temp shouldn't be that hot after coming off the intercooler, but I just wanted to make sure. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Mark

Default you can get brass or steel compression fittings at home depot and you can

find a local hose shop that contractors use to get the hose. you should be fine with rubber or nylon hose.

No Home Depot where I live so I'll just have to use the plastic and rubber hose I guess.

What about the plastic T joint? Best if it's brass? What's the advantage of silicone?

Default you'll be fine w/ plastic T, but some plastics are very brittle so be careful....

about the hoses, nylon will work just fine, the only reason i can see for silicone hose is that is might be stiffer, it won't vary the boost at all.

I found a brass T at NAPA from a Rancho air suspension kit. Cost $3.
