Default I can do both installs myself

I don't have any pics right now because my car is being serviced. I can take some later if you like. I have my TT installed in my glovebox and my boost gauge is in my center vent.

What seems to be the most popular Boost Gauge around here?

Default It's hard to say

The VDO gauge is popular because it is cheap and matches the interior. It is also known for buzzing, so a lot of people don't like it. The autometer mechanical is also fairly inexpensive and does a good job. The Omori electronic is supposed to be good, and it lights up red. I have the Greddy electronic, and I like it. The only real downside (at least to me) is that it lights up green. I will make it light up red soon, though. Mechanical gauges are definitely cheaper, but I prefer electronic gauges because they are easy to remove (when taking the car in for servicing). Also, they are quiet and smooth.
