Boost Gauge w/Transducer?

I have seen many people perform the boost gauge modification by running hose to an analog gauge inside the cabin. This seems a bit risky due to the fact that it introduces another hose where boost can leak. Has anyone installed a boost gauge using a pressure transducer in the engine bay with only wires running to the gauge?

I've got a small leak in my nylon hose, but I'm still boosting fine, I just have to get unlazy and replace it.

remote piezoresistive strain gauge based pressure transducer, though those types of gauges are considerably more expensive usually $100 to $150 but have cool features like peak hold and are absolutely silent...no buzzes etc.

many have, esp the AWE Omori in vent gauge...the mechanical version buzzes HORRIBLY on DBW 1.8T's, myself, Chris and Colin had nothing but troubles...tried all the filters in the world, different attach points...different gauge entirely...fuel filters the whole works, nothing made it perfect short of going to electronic which was ultimately what we did...for considerably more money though.

I know both of those are known to buzz, but I don't know of any others that are prone to buzzing.
