Default Boost Gauges...questions....

Hey guys...
I think my turbo is goin, so before I change my chip and go crying to the dealership, I want to get a boost gauge and see for myself. I've seen the AWE Kits and quite frankly, I think they are outlandishly expensive. Egauges.com seems to be damn cheap. Before I order, I am wondering if anyone has bought something from them and how their A-Pillar mounts look. Also, if anyone has any custom mount jobs, please post a pic here.

Thanks,
Jon Ghenn<ul><li><a href="http://www.egauges.com">Egauges.com</a></li></ul>

Default first try a new bpv....

then try tapping into a vac line, test your boost that way, you wont have to install a boost gauge.

Default I have the AWE kit......impressions....

Yes, the boost guage is a little on the expensive side. However, it is a complete kit, not just a guage and pod. Because of this and very good directions, I had mine installed in just a little over an hour. The extra money was worth my time and frutration savings so I am extremely pleased.

Default Jon check out SPP's kit($$$$), but looks great, or if you ar into DIY, have a look at the Tech

article that Sal did. Or if you go to Mach V. and check out the Blitz dual turbo timer/boost gauge, if you want a digital read out....but if you really want a project then check my pic poster, and have a look at the pod I wrapped in fabric...the work is simple, but the materials are hard to find. The pod is an autometer pod, and I have a spare a-pillar supplied to me by a really nice S4 owner (remain nameless so he does get 30 emails requesting one). If you want any info email me and I'll fill you in on the pod wrap. I plan to wrap the entire pillar in a few weeks. Post more pics when the job is done. )

Default I already got a new BPV...I think it's the TT Valve...

Got it from Hoppen Motorsport - They call it the "MTM/Bosch Sport Valve." What do you mean by Tapping the vac line? My turbo is making funny noises between 3K and 4K. Sounds like a really faint grinding. Also, my boost seems to be lacking.

Thanks,
Jon Ghenn

Default Re: what else comes in the kit besides the pod and the gauge?

Pre-made wiring harness, plastic tubing and oem cloth tubing for the engine bay
plastic tees to tap into your boost lines. Also buzz eliminator canister helps to deaden guage bounce or chatter works well for me.

Default Thanks man...

Probably gonna make this a DIY. Egauges seems like the easiest solution. I'm good enough with this that I don't need it spelled out for me.
